Bryan Bell, Synth-Bank®'s President and Founder, was the Strategic Technologist for the Frank Russell Company from 1994-2000. During that time, he headed up the Advanced Technology Lab responsible for devising Russell's intellectual property publishing strategy and pioneered the company's move from a "print then distribute" publishing model one of "distribute then print."

Project Goals
  • Create an Integrated Content Management and Knowledge Publishing System
  • Enable the automation of customized financial reports
  • Reduce the turnaround time for publishing and distribution of customized financial reports
Solution Summary

Bell and his team created the "Russell Publishing System" which went online in 1997. The system greatly increased the company's ability to produce state-of-the-art professional quality documents in internet-enabled digital formats by reducing the turnaround time from 14 weeks to less than an hour. Its use of XML and data-driven document components enabled a completely automated and extremely reliable publishing system that only required a minimal effort from its authors.
